Pet Placement
Animal Crackers is not a rescue. The pets listed below are local citizens pets that are in need of a home or are strays that they have taken in. If you have a pet that you cannot keep, we would be happy to place them on this page as well as our Petfinders Website, but we do not have a facility to take animals in. Please click on the "Cat" and "Dog" tabs below Pet Placement to see the pets listed. Contact information is listed after the pet you are looking at. If you would like to list a pet on here, please email Jennifer at jlmcdonald01@gmail.com.

I know of someone that is going through some tough medical issues right now and has inherited an American Bulldog. With her current condition she is not going to be able to take care of the dog very much longer. It is breaking her heart that she has to keep her outside locked up in a pen. She doesn’t want to have to take her to the pound and so I am reaching out for some help. Below is some information. Please let me know if there is anything else that you need.
Have a Great Day!

Hello,
My name is Randy Brown. I received your email from Cindy. I have two lab mixes brothers that are a little over a year old. I recently had to have spinal fusion surgery. Once that happened the dogs had to be kept in a kennel because my wife works and I could not move to take them out. Well my recovery has not gone a well as we hoped and I am not able to control them still. As a result they are kenneled 16-18 hours a day. That is no way for a dog to live.
To add to that, my wife just found out a new job out in KS that cannot be passed up. We will have to rent when we get out there and no rental place will take dogs over 50lbs. I tried to call the humane society of Rocky Mount because we adopted them from them but they said they couldn’t help me. I am trying to find a place that will take both of them because since they are brothers and have been kenneled with each other for so long I think splitting them up might be cruel.
I need to make something happen soon. The time frame for this is very short. I do NOT want to take the to the Rocky Mount shelter but if I cannot find anything else for them I might just have to do that. I don’t have time to put ads in the paper and wait months to try and find someone. I’m writing to you to see if you know of any farms, kennels, anywhere that would be willing to take them in.
They are both yellow mixed labs. Very energetic and cautious with people they don’t know because we have not been able to get them out like they need to be. Once they know you mean them no harm they are very loving. They are both 50lbs, all shots up to date and are both neutered as well as micro-chipped. We have kennels for them and if needed we can pay for anything they need for 2 –3 months.
My phone number is 252-452-1543 252-452-1543 and I can be reached at any time.
Thank you for you time
Randy Brown

Oh, what unhappy twist of fate Has brought you homeless to my gate? The gate where once another stood To beg for shelter, warmth and food. For from that day I ceased to be The master of my destiny. While he, with purr and velvet paw Became within my house the law. He scratched the furniture and shed And claimed the middle of my bed. He ruled in arrogance and pride And broke my heart the day he died. So, if you really think, oh Cat, I’d willingly relive all that Because you come forlorn and thin Well… don’t just stand there… Come on in!
