I want to give you an update on "Copper", the beagle (Picture the dog in Fox and the Hound).  Noone has called for him, so we would love to find him a happy home!  We have tried to keep him, but I truly feel with his "hunter insticts" he needs a fenced-in yard; he ignores our electric fence.  He is wonderful with my two girls, and loves our golden retriever.  He appears to be potty trained, and he is very good indoors and loves to sleep at your feet or cuddled in your lap.  My girls love him, but I am growing scared of letting him out becuase he gets away.  He is so, so sweet and would be wonderful with the right set up.  Please call Bruce at 252-452-6892 if you would like him--we also have pictures on our phones if you would like us to send you one.    Thank you.

I found 2 dogs, I believe, are brother & sister, approximately 9 to 12 months old, not fixed as far as I can tell.  I have 2 Chows and they won’t allow me to bring others in my neighbor across the street has the dogs in his fence and I am not sure how long he will be willing to let them stay.  They are both a little skittish but since we got them in the fence yesterday I have been able to hand feed them and today they are quite friendly.

I am attaching pictures, they are black with a minute gold tip on their fur, teeth are very clean, nails look to have been clipped fairly recently.  I have an ad starting tomorrow in The Telegram and The Wilson Daily times, I have posted pics on Facebook, Craig’s List, sent e-mails to everyone I know & requesting that they send to their friends.

My home address is 3650 Morris Court, Rocky Mount, NC 27803, phone # 252-442-8367.

Let me know what I need to do, if anything.

Thanks!!

Male, Miniature Pincher.  Brown collar (older looking collar).

Looks very healthy and well taken care of.  Perfect markings and appearance for his breed.

Appeared to be more friendly towards men (took to my 23 year old son right away and sat in his lap)

Could tell he was scared and didn’t know where he was.

He hung around our house and Berryhill Road from at least 8:00am 2/8/11.

Found 112 Berryhill Road, Rocky Mount, NC 27804.

The City of Rocky Mount Animal Control (252)972-1390 came to get the dog 2/8/11, at around 12:15pm, after I called them. The owner must be looking for this dog. Updated  2/9/11

CATS

A young gray tabby cat has come into our lives, and seems to be lost.  I stapled a note around his flea collar asking for the owner to call me because I was worried that he was lost.  No one has responded.  At the suggestion of the Humane Society, I also put a "Found" ad in the Telegram - again with no response.  We are at a loss as to what to do.  We even took him in a cage to our church's Oktoberfest with a sign posted on the cage.

He is an un-neutered male perhaps a year old.  He looks well-cared for, and not emaciated, but ravenously hungry.  He is EXTREMELY affectionate, purring constantly and very content to be rolled over and have his belly scratched (a submissive behavior not typical of an alley cat).  Because we have so many in my family who are allergic, he has been sleeping in our garage with the back door cracked open.  I hate the idea of an un-neutered cat being left free to roam, but we seriously cannot take him inside.

Trina Kline recommended your organization to me.  We are out of ideas.  I can't stand the thought of taking him to the shelter, but we truly cannot keep him, as precious as he is.  I appreciate any advice you have.

Sincerely,
Andrea Reuter
